FDM Group: Mountie model underpins fourfold growth opportunity

In a peer group that is often characterised by low growth and low margins, IT services and contract staffing provider FDM Group has developed a highly differentiated and defensible business model, delivering strong organic growth, sector leading margins and excellent cash conversion. Moreover, we see multiple long term growth drivers including international expansion and vertical market development. While there will be those that fret about earnings quality and the potential for medium term margin erosion, we do not see these as serious concerns. Perhaps our only worry is whether FDM is able to continue to manage growth as effectively as it has in recent years.

BigHand: Expanding beyond voice

BigHand is an established provider of digital dictation workflow software to the UK legal market, where it provides solutions to approximately 80% of the 200 largest law firms. The company also has a sizeable presence in UK Healthcare and in legal markets across Europe, Australia and the US. In its current growth phase BigHand intends to build upon its success in providing voice productivity solutions by widening its product portfolio into other areas of process management which, in addition to its entry level SaaS solution, should allow the company to maintain an impeccable financial track record in the UK and overseas.

UK Telecoms & Networks Quarterly Review - Q3 2015

This quarterly review examines 64 public and private UK-based or listed Telecoms & Networks companies. The report also includes the latest company rankings based on the Megabuyte Scorecard, our proprietary benchmarking methodology. For a sector characterised by significant M&A activity, the last quarter has been remarkably quiet with just one albeit quite substantial deal, with Interoute paying £402m/10x EBITDA for Easynet, marking a successful end to the MDNX buy and build. In contrast, the most noteworthy results of the last quarter are from companies that are developing mainly if not wholly organically, with Gamma leading the way among public companies and Livingbridge-backed wireless ISP Metronet grabbing top spot in the Telecoms & Networks peer group Megabuyte Scorecard with a very strong fiscal 2014/15.

European FM & HCM Software Quarterly Review - Q2 2015

The main themes to come out of the financial results was that, despite recording strong growth, investor enthusiasm cooled towards SaaS vendors, whilst SAP is winning more supporters of its Cloud story compared to Oracle. Against an overall subdued market, the FM & HCM Software index managed to return 4%, although the SaaS index underperformed, recording a 2.3% decline. Valuation momentum also eased over the last three months, with the group's forward looking EV/EBITDA multiple ending the period at 10.3x. In a slightly quieter period for corporate activity, Visma continued its acquisition spree with a particular focus on Denmark, whilst there was further private equity interest in the group.
